The Oakland, Calif.-based Momentum Sports Group owns and operates America’s top Pro Continental team, the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team.
Throughout 2011 and 2012, the team now referred to as the “Blue Train” from UnitedHealthcare, dominated the U.S. racing circuit, enjoying an outstanding year. Emerging victorious more than 20 times in 2011, Team UnitedHealthcare reached the steps of the podium more than 60 times, including three podium sweeps last season.
The UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team raced as “Health Net Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis” from 2003-2008 and “OUCH! Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis” in 2009. In 2010, UnitedHealthcare assumed title sponsorship of the team, and they raced as the “UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis.” In 2011, the Team raced as the “UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team” and will continue to do so through the 2014 season.
Kiel Reijnen is proving to be one of the top one-day riders for UHC. He won this year’s Philadelphia Classic and was 3rd overall in the U.S.A. Cycling Professional Championships in the road race. The team has great stage racers, including climbers Marc de Maar and Irishman Matt Philip Deignan.
