Team Colombia is a squad that is supported by the government (much like Pro Tour team Astana) and has a roster of 18 riders mainly Colombians. The team is tied to a cycling school that develops young talent within the country, known for its high altitude and mountains.

The Colombians are known for their strong climbing ability and have had success in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains in the first two USA Pro Challenge. This year’s squad has two stage podium finishes at the Giro d’Italia and one at the Giro del Trentino.

The team is led by Darwin Atapuma, who placed in the top 20 of this year’s Giro d’Italia and Jarlinson Pantano, a good, young climber.

Look for Team Colombia to attack in the mountains and challenge for the KOM jersey in this year’s USA Pro Challenge, if not have a G.C. contender.
