Bissell Pro Cycling, ranked #1 in the 2011 NRC team standings, is one of the most consistently well placed and aggressive teams in U.S. domestic racing. BISSELL riders include the U.S. National Criterium Champion, as well as New Zealand’s top finishers in both the U23 and Elite National Championships. BISSELL consistently has the highest placed domestic riders at the most competitive U.S. international races and battles at the top-level at all U.S. domestic races. In 2012, the UCI-registered Continental outfit will again focus on combining seasoned veterans and developing riders to achieve great results.
The team is based in California and is managed by Santa Rosa resident Glen Mitchell. BISSELL has been a staple in the Amgen Tour of California since 2007. The team has shown solid results in both the time trial where they have consistently had the top placed domestic rider, as well as, climbing stages where they have earned the KOM jersey. In 2011, BISSELL was the most animated domestic team in the race having a rider in the breakaway on six of the seven stages.
BISSELL features long-time veterans Jason McCartney, the 3rd place overall finisher in the 2007 Amgen Tour of California, and Chris Baldwin, who finished in the top15 at this year’s Amgen Tour of California and the top 10 in this year’s U.S.A. Cycling professional championships.
