Janez Brajkovic’s first full season was in 2006 and he showed much promise with several strong performances in the Tour de Suisse and the Volta a Catalunya. However, it wasn’t until 2007 at the Tour de Georgia that he took his first professional win. At the end of the year he was second in the Giro di Lombardia.
The later portion of his cycling career showed he was a capable lieutenant and he was selected in 2010 to ride his first Tour de France in support of his RadioShack teammate Lance Armstrong.
The 2012 season has been strong for the Slovenian. He won the Tour of Slovenia, a stage of the Volta a Catalunya, 9th overall at the Critérium du Dauphiné, and 9th in the Tour de France. He also represented his country at the London Olympics road race (21st place) and time trial (10th place).
