"If there were a mountain that had terrain created for skiing, it would be Copper Mountain." Copper Mountain’s founder Chuck Lewis capitalized on this U.S. Forest Service evaluation report in 1970 and began building what Copper is today. Copper opened for its first winter season in 1972 and over the last 42 years, Copper Mountain has become a premier year-round destination.
